A pregnant woman is tormented by a mysterious and benevolent stranger in her home.
Inside is definitely not one for the faint hearted. Whilst not quite as sickening as fellow French film Irreversible or as unrelentingly violent and bleak as Martyrs it does contain some of the more shocking scenes I have seen in any film. Violence as an art form is a dubious concept but I found Inside to be pretty captivating if unrealistic at times. It shares the same problem as many other horror movies in that the reaction of the police is farcical to the point that it makes you disengage from the action. Strong performances from the two female leads in what must have been challenging roles. Inside is not revolutionary but it will stay with you afterwards. Definitely haunting.
