Forget Wall Street and even Wolf of Wall Street, this is the ultimate sales movie…
The pressure builds in a cut throat real estate office with the top seller promised a new car while the bottom sellers will be fired.
Any directors dream cast featuring Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Kevin Spacey, Alan Arkin, Ed Harris plus an explosive cameo from Alec Baldwin, Glengarry Glen Ross is one of the best acted films I have ever seen, right up there with Apocalypse Now and Zodiac in that respect. You can practically smell the desperation coming off Jack Lemmon’s over the hill Shelley ‘The Machine’ Levine and Pacino is at his most furious with Kevin Spacey showing a glimmer of the crushing disdain that he is currently wielding in House of Cards.
The chemistry between Pacino, Lemmon and Spacey in particular is so compelling and such an easy watch that it hardly matters if the story is any good or not. Also there are enough angry rants delivered here to make even Dr. Perry Cox blush.
A joy from start to finish.
