Two sisters return home from a mental institute to find their lives full of ghosts and mystery.

A Tale of Two Sisters is a South Korean psychological horror that is equal parts scary, bleak and morose. While the sisters find joy within each other in the beginning, their lives soon become surreal and nightmarish. The plot is not far removed from standard Hollywood fare but the South Koreans do this kind of thing so much better, relying on atmosphere rather than cheap scares and gore. If you enjoyed the original versions of The Ring and Grudge or if you are just interested in exploring Asian horror, A Tale of Two Sisters is a good starting point.
